CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

We offer arbitration and mediation services for all construction and real estate related disputes.  The fact that your construction contract may stipulate arbitration before the AAA or JAMs does not prevent the parties from arbitrating at the La Jolla Center.  Our arbitrators will use the rules designated by the Agreement.  In most other respects, our rates are less than most other providers.  Our offices are conveniently located and we pay for parking at a location only blocks from our Center.

We also provide project neutral services where expert resources are required to assist the parties in settling disputes.

We offer substantial construction services through the Center and through our partner, The ReAlignment Group, Ltd.  ReAlignment services include:

  • Project Alignment™: This process is designed to energize "partnering." Its project-specific planning process develops systems to overcome defined barriers, and enhance opportunities for success.

  • RiskTester™: This software was developed by TRG to allow you to take stock of your project at any time, assessing the risks of 18 different functions of the construction team.

  • Slate Tracker™: Our innovative job-progress monitor tracks progress against defined criteria. SlateTracker is the result of many years of working through problems using the ReAlignment process. Now, those same techniques that anticipate and solve problems as they occur are available electronically.

  • Project ReAlignment™:
Our most ambitious and famous service. If a project is off track and going the wrong direction - put it back on track! Everyone knows when a job is going badly. People see the train wreck coming. If the project looks like and smells like it's in trouble, odds are: it's in trouble.

  • SofTurn™: Project ReAlignment Lite is a facilitated process that analyzes and resolves pending problems, designed to get your project back on track in a one-day session.

  • Project Closeout or Wipe the Slate Clean™ ("WSC"): At the conclusion of a project, many loose ends often remain. Project Closeout uses ReAlignment techniques to finalize construction details and approval. WSC uses ReAlignment techniques to resolve end of job disputes regarding claims, cost overruns, delays and other budget busters.

  • Lessons Learned: So few companies take advantage of the tremendous lessons learned on every construction job. As Georges Santayana has said, "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Highlights of this process are capturing those "lessons learned", and institutionalizing strategies developed by the team to fix recurring problems.
